Who Needs a Haircut!?! Especially a Home Cut!?!

We have decided to have some fun with our hair while raising awareness for SLC6A1.  I have never laughed so hard in my life with #HomeCutsForACure.

Exhibit A: Mark Freed with a Mullet.

Everyone that knows Mark well would barely recognize him without short hair and a golf shirt. I gave him this mullet on FB live!  I was nervous…it was my first time with a razor or clippers.  I also bought the cheapest option on Amazon, but as you can see, the man looks fly.

Exhibit B:  My sister gave me Dumb & Dumber bangs.

She did not cut evenly.  I also just noticed my shirt is on backwards.

Exhibit C:  I gave my sister Dumb & Dumber bangs.

I gave my sister bangs and she now looks like Ralphie from the Simpsons.

We had an absolute blast and it’s been a source of much needed laughter!  I will admit our hairstyles could be considered extreme.  But, anything counts for #HomeCutsForACure…even your best shot at a normal haircut.  Or a crazy mustache before you actually trim.

This is how it works:

Step 1: Donate $25 to SLC6A1 Connect here:  #HomeCutsForACure

Step 2: Give someone in your quarantine family a hair cut. This can be as serious or fun as you want to make it. Mohawks, bowl cuts and mullets encouraged, but not required.  Anything goes in quarantine!  TAKE A VIDEO or Before/After Pictures.

Step 3:

  • Post your video or pictures to FB, Twitter and/or Instagram
  • Nominate/tag 3+ friends
  • Copy and Paste these instructions.
  • Use the hashtags:
